2. APPLICABILITY OF K-TET
In accordance with the provisions made in the Service Rules of various categories of teaching staff in the State of Kerala, RTE Act, 2009 and guidelines framed by the NCTE, K-TET shall apply to -
i) Schools of the State Government/Local authority referred to in the Service Rules and also sub-clause
(i) of clause (n) of Section 2 of the RTE Act, 2009; and
ii) Schools referred to in sub clause (ii) ofclause (n) of the RTE Act in Kerala.
iii) A school belonging to specified category

3. SYLLABUS
Syllabus of the K-TET examination (for PaperI, II & III) will be published by the SCERT Kerala in the follwing websites of SCERT Kerala
www.scert.kerala.gov.in, the Department of General Education, Kerala
www.education.kerala.gov.in and the
Pareeksha Bhavan, Kerala
www.keralapareekshabhavan.in

4. ELIGIBILITY, SCHEME, STRUCTURE
AND CONTENT OF THE TEST
The tests will be for three categories -Category I, Category II & Category III those who intends to be a teacher for Lower Primary classes and fulfills the minimum educational qualification
(Category I)
ii) those who intends to be a teacher for Upper Primary classes and fulfills the minimum qualification (Category II)
iii) those who intends to be a teacher for High School classes and fulfils the minimum qualification (Category III)

5. AGE LIMIT
There is no age limit is prescribed for candidates appearing for the K-TETexamination.

6. SCHEDULE OF EXAMINATION
The date, time and other details will be published in the exam notification issued by Pareeksha Bhavan.

7. MEDIUM OF QUESTION PAPERS
Questions for Category I and II (except for languages) will be bilingual i.e. Malayalam

 8. REQUIREMENT FOR PASS
(i) A person who scores 60% or more in the K-TET examination shall be considered as K-TET pass.

12. ADMIT CARD
• The Admit Card for all the eligible candidates will be available in the website of Pareeksha Bhavan from the date which will be announced later in same set which the candidate received
previously

13. INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING THE TEST
• The candidates should be present at the Examination centre, as allotted in the admission card, at least 30 minutes before the commencement of examination.
• The candidates should not bring any other paper except the Admit Card in the examination centre.
• Candidates found using or attempting to use any unfair means shall stand disqualified, besides other punitive measures.
• No candidate shall be permitted to leave the examination centre earlier than the time fixed for the examination.
• Use of calculating devices is not allowed.
• Candidates must affix their signatures on the attendance sheet in the presence of the Invigilator in the Examination Hall.

14. INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING TEST BOOKLET
• Four sets of question papers (A,B,C,D) will be distributed in each classroom.
• There will be three parts in the question paper for each category. Candidates should ensure that they get the same set of questions for all the parts. (Part 1, 2 & 3)

15. INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING ANSWER SHEET (OMR SHEET)
• The candidate must read the instructions given in the Answer Sheet carefully.
• Use only Black/Blue ball point pen strictly as per directions mentioned on the Answer Sheet.
• In case the candidate finds any defect in the answer sheet, he/she should request the invigilator to change the same.

16. VALUATION AND DECLARATION OF RESULTS
A fully computerized system is adopted for the valuation of the answer scripts using optical mark reader (OMR) for the preparation of the results

17. BLIND CANDIDATES

1. After submitting the application through online, the Blind Candidates who need the assistance of a scribe may approach the Secretary, Pareeksha Bhavan,Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram
through the Deputy Director (IED cell), Directorate of Public Instruction, Thiruvananthapuram along with necessary documents at least one week before the commencement of examination. Such candidate shall also be required to bring with him/her a list of two persons who are to be selected as scribes which will be duly recommended by the Head of Institution/School along
with two latest passport size photographs of the scribe attested by the Head of Institution/School. A student studying in Higher Secondary classes in a school recognized and affiliated will be considered eligible to work as scribe for blind candidates.

18. GENERAL INFORMATION
• If a candidate is found to have applied from different districts, his/her application
form will be out rightly rejected and he/ she will not be allowed to appear in the test.

20. NOTIFICATION
Notifications containing the time schedule and other related matters of K- TET 2012 will be issued by the Secretary, Pareeksha Bhavan, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram. The same shall be
intimated to the public through all print and electronic media.

21. SPECIAL PROVISION
(i) In order to maintain high standards of secrecy, the Secretary, Pareeksha Bhavan is the competent authority to determine the method of assigning Roll Numbers/ Registration number to the candidates, allotment of examination centres, appointment of invigilation staff,inspection of examination centres, remuneration for those involved in the process of conduct of examination, setting of Question-Papers and their printing including certificates,other point specifically not covered by this Prospectus, the Secretary, General Education, Kerala State will be the competent authority for a final decision.

23. JURISDICTION
In matters of dispute the jurisdiction will be the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala,Ernakulam.
